{"id":151207,"date":"2016-01-26T12:15:38","date_gmt":"2016-01-26T12:15:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.intouchrugby.com\/magazine\/?p=151207"},"modified":"2016-01-26T12:47:46","modified_gmt":"2016-01-26T12:47:46","slug":"37th-nutty-krust-rugby-tournament-to-kick-off","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.intouchrugby.com\/magazine\/37th-nutty-krust-rugby-tournament-to-kick-off\/","title":{"rendered":"37th Nutty Krust Rugby Tournament to kick off"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>37<sup>th<\/sup> Nutty Krust Rugby Tournament to kick off<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Local rugby fans are gearing up for the 37<sup>th<\/sup> annual Nutty Krust Rugby Floodlit Tournament.<\/p>\n<p>Players from nine teams across Northern Ireland will take part in the tournament which kicks off 27<sup>th<\/sup> January 2015 at Chambers Park, home of the Portadown Rugby Football Club.<\/p>\n<p>Following a draw made by Bobby Stewart, President, Ulster Branch IRFU, and Brian Irwin, Chairman of sponsor Irwin\u2019s Bakery, Banbridge will take on Ballynahinch in the first match. Defending champion Dromore and last year\u2019s runner-up Rainey will also be among the teams to take to the pitch throughout the spring, with the final match taking place 27<sup>th<\/sup> April 2016.<\/p>\n<p>Portadown-based Irwin\u2019s Bakery has sponsored the tournament for the last 37 years. Brian Irwin, Chairman, Irwin\u2019s Bakery, said he can\u2019t wait for this year\u2019s competition.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe look forward to this tournament every year as it is a true showcase of the young talent Northern Ireland has to offer,\u201d Brian Irwin said. \u201cAs a local business that has been baking bread for more than 100 years, we have always been big supporters of grassroots athletics across Northern Ireland as it is our way of contributing to Northern Ireland\u2019s strong heritage of sport. The Nutty Krust Rugby Floodlit Tournament gives young star athletes a fun but challenging tournament.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI would like to thank the organisers and officials who make the tournament possible and I encourage everyone to come out and cheer.
