There was more than a little history involved given that it was the same opposition who defeated Monaghan in the final of the same competition 6 years ago. And a few of the Monaghan old boys on the pitch were in Ravenhill that day.<br \/>\nThe match was late kicking off as the referee landed late and then kicked up a fuss over the lack of sideline flags. Problem sorted by the home side and the visitors kicked off. Paddy McArdle’s kick off was allowed to roll into touch only a few meters from the home 22 and it seemed like early pressure would come from the visitors. Not so. Enniskillen won the lineout and set up a powerful driving maul. Monaghan did well not to concede a penalty as they were driven back but they did lose a lot of ground and only got the maul stopped as it crossed halfway. But the home side kept the pressure on their visitors for a full 5 minutes. Monaghan were being stretched back and forth across the pitch and only gained some temporary relief through a few handling errors by Enniskillen…….
