The young side won the coveted Crawford cup when they<br \/>\ndefeated a very strong Coleraine second\u2019s side 29-10 in the cup final played<br \/>\nat Ravenhill on 26th April. They went on to win the Magner\u2019s Junior League<br \/>\nwith the both the best defensive and best attacking figures in the league.<br \/>\nThroughout the season, the team coach, Gary Morton, engendered a<br \/>\nunique team atmosphere. He was seen to extract team performances, which<br \/>\nwould have challenged any club first fifteen in Ulster.<br \/>\nWith the senior side venturing into senior rugby for the first time since<br \/>\n1997 the second\u2019s team role within the club has now become ever more<br \/>\nimportant. The team will be seen to take on an integral role where young<br \/>\nplayers will be encouraged to emulate the senior team. The team\u2019s role<br \/>\nbecomes ever more important when the first fifteen side now having to carry<br \/>\nnot only the regular fifteen players but also five substitutes. To keep this<br \/>\nsupply regular the club has been required to recruit new talent from a<br \/>\nvariety of sources.<br \/>\nA full detailed list of new recruits will be issued prior to the start of<br \/>\nthe new season.<\/p>\n<p><strong>UNIQUE SOCIAL EVENT AT THE PALACE GROUNDS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Saturday afternoon sees Armagh rugby stage a unique event at The Palace<br \/>\nGrounds. In an attempt to keep the wheels turning during the off-season the<br \/>\nplayers plan to stage Cow Pat Bingo! This entails two exhibition Friesian<br \/>\ncows being led round the rugby pitch and the first poo deposited on a<br \/>\ndesignated square will win the lucky ticket holder \u00a3100. The second poo will<br \/>\nwin \u00a3125 third poo \u00a3175 and fourth poo \u00a3250.<br \/>\nThe event kicks-off @ 5-00 pm with a BBQ @ 7-30.
