Incoming president, John<br \/>\nBeatty proposed the toast to the IRFU with the president elect of the Ulster<br \/>\nBranch, Laurence Caldwell replying. The latter reiterated the importance of<br \/>\nthe club game and congratulated Dungannon on winning the Ulster League and<br \/>\nCup double. George Gallagher,<a href=\"http:\/\/www.eurosportsdirect.com\/index.asp\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-9533\" title=\"Click Here For Eurosports Direct E-Commerce Website\" src=\"http:\/\/www.intouchrugby.com\/magazine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/rooooon21.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"135\" height=\"943\" \/><\/a> who will be v\/president next season, proposed<br \/>\nthe toast to the guests bidding a warm welcome to everyone. He made special<br \/>\nmention of Ballymena, Ballynahinch and Harlequins who are now all back in<br \/>\nDivision IB. George is certainly looking forward to a host of local derby<br \/>\ngames in the All Ireland League. In between, long serving Secretary, Derek<br \/>\nClements read out the list of Club awards and there was a special memento<br \/>\npresented to Clubhouse Manager, Harold Walker who has just completed 20<br \/>\nyears in post. Billy Boles, who has served several positions in the Club<br \/>\nover the years, was made an Honorary Life member. Club Honours &#8211; Darren<br \/>\nSimpson. Most Improved Young Player &#8211; Conor Gaston.<br \/>\nYouth player of the Year &#8211; Daniel Maxwell. Leading points scorer &#8211; Michael<br \/>\nLawton (254 points). Top try scorer &#8211; Conor Gaston (19 tries). <\/p>\n<p>Congratulations to Craig Gilroy who won the Phoenix Gas &#8216;Academy Player of<br \/>\nthe Year&#8217; at the Ulster Rugby Awards on Tuesday night. Craig&#8217;s playing<br \/>\ncareer certainly took off this season when he became the first player to<br \/>\nscore a try at the new Aviva stadium. He followed that up with a debut for<br \/>\nUlster and in his few appearances at that level registered a total of eight<br \/>\ntries. Other Dungannon players who were nominees on the night included U20<br \/>\ninternational, Paddy Jackson and School&#8217;s international, Peter Nelson. <\/p>\n<p>Dungannon Rugby Club and Cancer Research NI have linked up in a fund raising<br \/>\nventure in the form of an auction which takes place this coming Saturday.<br \/>\nLots of interesting items go under the hammer at the Clubhouse and the event<br \/>\nbegins at 2 pm. Please note that admission is per catalogue at a cost of<br \/>\n\u00a32.
