They had really rung the changes with of lot of regulars being rested. It gave the opportunity to give two players- Stephen Rooney (wing) and Mark Mairs (backrow) their debuts for the firsts. It was also good to see Paddy Bell back at flanker after a lengthy spell of injury. He joined his brother Rory in the team.
