AIL Promotion Playoff Preview – Old Crescent <\/strong>
\nSaturday 30th April promises to be one of the most eventful in the club’s history with the Firsts chasing promotion in Limerick and two youth teams hoping for silverware at Ravenhill.
\nThis weekend sees the First XV play their most crucial game since the club went senior in 1998.
\nTheir fifth place in Division Three of the Ulster Bank All-Ireland League has earned them a promotion play-off against Limerick side Old Crescent. Victory in Saturday’s game would see the Firsts move out of the bottom tier and into Division 2A of the newly re-structured league next season.
\nThat would be a remarkable achievement for a young side which has shown steady improvement over the season under coaches Daniel Soper and Simon Best. Kiwi Soper, who returned to the club at the start of this season after a very successful spell as assistant to Derek Suffern at Ballynahinch, is under no

Bann Youth teams contest two Ravenhill finals <\/strong>
\nWhile our senior squad are in Limerick preparing for their promotion play-off with Old Crescent, two of our youth teams will be at Ravenhill contesting the finals of the provincial cup competitions.
\nThe U-17s take on local rivals Ballynahinch while the U-15s face City of Derry. And with the U-13s having already won the Plate competition at their grade, this could be Bann\\’s most successful season ever since youth rugby started at Rifle Park in the mid-90s.
\nThe U-17s travelled to the Biarritz area of France on Sunday for their end-of-season tour, planned without the expectation that they would still be involved in local competitions. On Monday they played St-Paul-Les-Dax and yesterday (Tuesday) they took on Corraze Nay.

U17s French tour off to winning start <\/strong>
\nThe U17s recorded a 37-19 against St-Paul-Les-Dax in the first fixture of their French tour on Monday.
\nThey will take on Coarraze Nay in their second tour fixture on Tuesday.
