Rainey battle well but were soon having the defence challanged.  They held strong, but it was only time before Crutis Doak broke through for Lurgan&#8217;s second try which was also convert.  On 17 minutes they increase the lead with a try by  Cailan Webb.  The first half close with a penalty each Crutis Doak for Lurgan and  Mark Friel for Rainey.  Half time score Rainey 3 Lurgan 20<br \/>\nRainey opened up well in the second half and fifteen minutes in were reward with a try by Dylan converted by James Key. Rainey 10 Lurgan 20.  Rainey appeared to be gaining superancy, but could not close the score line. Heading towards full time Lurgan ensure the win with two more tries(Curtis&#8217;s third, and one by Shane McKeever), one of them converted<br \/>\nby Ryan Mooney.  Final Score Rainey 10 Lurgan 36.<\/p>\n<p>The second games was the same two clubs in the U17 Shield Competition.<br \/>\nIt followed the same pattern as the first.  Lurgan opened with a Penalty.  The scoreboard kept turning over with 3 tries in 9 minutes.  Rainey had a spell of pocession and territory but no scores.<br \/>\nIn the second half Rainey managed a try, but the game was Lurgan&#8217;s final score 5 points to 46<\/p>\n<p>The last game Rainey had a of opposition, whilst Lurgan went home happy Ards took on Rainey U19s .  Would it be third time lucky for Rainey?<br \/>\nRainey missed an early penalty, but were successfull with another penalty on the ten minutes.  Ards missed three penalties before the first half ended with that solitary Rainey penalty.<br \/>\nThe Second half saw Rainey increased the score with two more tries before Ards opened up with a converted try.  The game was  not over in this keenly contested match.
