A new clinic has been specially created at The RBH in Aylesbury which is more centrally located than the original Gatherer Partnership centre in Norfolk. \u201cOur closer ties with RBH will provide the players with better access to consultants, specialists and neurosurgeons,\u201d says Don Gatherer, founder of The Gatherer Partnership, himself a former player and someone who has treated close to 400 players.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.eurosportsdirect.com\/index.asp\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-9533\" title=\"Click Here For Eurosports Direct E-Commerce Website\" src=\"http:\/\/www.intouchrugby.com\/magazine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/rooooon21.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"135\" height=\"943\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nThe technology combines Formula One technology and the experience of one of Britain\u2019s most renowned research physiotherapists aims to advance rehabilitation and training techniques for rugby players.  Data such as peak force and fatigue rating of voluntary muscle contraction will enable physiotherapists to assess the player\u2019s true condition, determine the need for specialist referral as well as the ability to create and administer bespoke conditioning and rehabilitation programmes.<\/p>\n<p>Gatherer, a former consultant physio to the RFU and long time member of the Players\u2019 Safety Committee plans to roll out an analysis system to help clubs and individuals do everything from developing a better training regime, through to using it as an additional diagnostic aid for surgical intervention decisions. \u201cI am currently treating both Premiership and International players with cervical lesions at my clinic,\u201d says Gatherer. \u201cFrom treating over 170 players, I know that prescribing and monitoring a specific rehabilitation programme is considerably enhanced with supporting objective data.
