Ballymena led 10-9 at the break, having taken 29 minutes to break down the Thomond defence witha Jamie Smith try. On the restart the visitors kicked a penalty to give them a 12-10 lead, but that was as good as it got for them, because they had no answer to the pace of the Ballymena attack, which ran in four second half tries through Kerr, Seymour, Pritchard and McBurney. A bonus point win and Ballymena now lie third in the table.
