All Black, Dave Gallaher’s niece visits Letterkenny Rugby Club’s Dave Gallaher Park.
On Sunday past, Letterkenny Rugby Club had a visit from two New Zealanders to watch the Ire v Italy game at the Club House.
Sam Gallaher is a great grand niece of of the great late, Dave Gallaher. Sam and her partner Steve McPherson had traveled from New Zealand to England to see the All Blacks play Georgia on Friday and then flew to Ireland on Sunday and made a planned visit to the club to watch the game on Sunday. The couple will be spending a few days discovering Dave Gallaher’s birthplace and the county before heading to Scotland to pick up Steve’s Falkirk roots. The club were delighted to meet Sam and Steve and to pass on connections between Letterkenny RFC and New Zealand.
