RICHIE MCCAW AND STEVE HANSEN – New Zealand’s 34-16 victory over Wales in Cardiff marked the end of a massively successful international season, so no great shock when Richie McCaw picked up the award for World Rugby Team of the Year and Steve Hansen, the award for Coach of the Year.

BRODIE RETALLICK – One of our star guests this week – the World Player of the Year looks back over an outstanding 2014.

WILLIE LE ROUX – It’s been an eventful couple of years for 25-year-old Springbok full back Willie Le Roux. Having made his international debut in June last year, he has quickly adapted to life at the top.

TOMAS CUBELLI AND JOAQUIN TUCULET – Argentina ended their European tour on a high with an 18-13 victory over France in Paris and in this feature, players Tomas Cubelli and Joaquin Tuculet say there’s more to come.

CRYSANDER BOTHA – One player missing from Namibia’s 29-20 defeat to Portugal last weekend was their full back, Crysander Botha. Botha will be a key player for Namibia at next year’s Rugby World Cup.

MARTIN JOHNSON – In just under a years’ time, England will face Fiji in the opening game of the World Cup. For many of the squad it will be their first taste of rugby’s greatest prize…but one man who’s been there and won it, is former captain, Martin Johnson.

SAMOAN RUGBY – Samoa have had a mixed international campaign both on and off the pitch, but under coach Alama Ieremia, a new structure has been established in order to develop a squad, the majority of whom are playing for clubs in Europe.

FUMIAKI TANAKA – Japan’s rugby profile has risen immeasurably with the hosting of the 2019 Rugby World Cup, along with the country’s selection as a base for the latest Super Rugby franchise. Fuimiaki Tanaka, was the first Japanese player to play Super Rugby.

RWC MEMORY; IRELAND v AUSTRALIA IN 1991 – Ireland’s final fixture of the year was one to remember with their victory over Australia by 26 points to 23. It was a thrilling encounter in Dublin, evoking memories of the classic match between the two in the 1991 Rugby World Cup.
