There is something so moving about ladies rugby. It breaks boundaries, it makes everyone think differently about who plays rugby. Its existence is an example of the core rugby values of equality, of respect. Yet its exactly the same as all rugby. Its about dreams, its about every pass and ruck and maul, the sublime split second off load out of a tackle that makes the try. But what makes winners is that excited, honest energy of endeavour, of overcoming fear. All sorts of fear. From those who were not picked for the squad but went to the games as supporters, to those who packed the kit bag, filled the water bottles and had everything prepared, everything in its place, and those who have been on that stage or just good friends, the coaches. – But most of all the women and we all lived the dream.
The tries!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The Joy.
Thank you.
