Darren studied at the University of Ulster and graduated in 2007 with a BSc Honours degree in Physiotherapy. Darren began working in (Dundonald Physiotherapy and Sports Injury Clinic) private practice in July 2007. This quickly involved managing a large caseload of both musculoskeletal and orthopaedic patients. Having seen the benefits of the Sarah Key Method for treating back and neck pain Darren began his training in 2008 and became an accredited practitioner in 2010. Through the Sarah Key Method training Darren met Julie who was a tutor. He further developed a relationship with Back on Track Physiotherapy through further training updates.

Darren has always had a passion for sport and working with professional athletes. From 2008, Darren has worked with Northern Ireland International football teams beginning with the Under 17 squad. This progressed to Under 21 level in 2012. Darren also worked with Ulster Rugby U18 team and continues to provide soft tissue therapy on a locum basis for the Senior Ulster Rugby team and N.I. Athletics.

Darren returned to the University of Ulster in 2011 and completed a Post Graduate Certificate in Sport and Exercise Medicine. This equipped Darren with the knowledge and skills to work at International level within Sports Physiotherapy. He has now been Physiotherapist with the Senior Men Northern Ireland squad since October 2012. This involves travelling with the team and providing Physiotherapy including pre-habilitation and recovery strategies for the players to maximise performance and reduce playing time loss from injury.

Darren is delighted to be joining Back on Track Physiotherapy and brings a wealth of experience treating all musculoskeletal injuries. His enthusiasm and passion for his profession is reflected in his commitment to his clients and result in them recovering and achieving their goals whether it be returning to work, lifting their grandchildren or a better golf swing!
