RBS 6 NATIONS CHAMPIONSHIP APPOINTS TISSOT AS OFFICIAL TIMEKEEPER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The RBS 6 Nations Championship is proud to announce a new partnership with Tissot, one of the world’s best known Swiss watch brands.

The new three year partnership will see Tissot become the ‘Official Timekeeper of the RBS 6 Nations Championship’ from 2013 to 2015.

In the frantic, high intensity environment of international rugby, where timing is everything, Tissot will work with the RBS 6 Nations on the provision of live on-screen match timing graphics to its Championship broadcast partners.

As part of the new partnership, every referee officiating at an RBS 6 Nations match will also use an exclusive tactile Tissot T-Touch Expert, which is the brand’s iconic timepiece, to assist them in performing their match duties with the ultimate in accuracy and style.

In addition, Tissot will be presenting a countdown clock on the official RBS 6 Nations website (www.rbs6nations.com) which provides a countdown to the very first match of the 2013 RBS 6 Nations Championship – Wales v Ireland in Cardiff at 1.30pm (GMT) on 2nd February next.

Commenting on the new partnership, Francois Thiébaud, President of Tissot, said: “Tissot is very proud to, once again, be the Official Timekeeper of the RBS 6 Nations Championship, the greatest annual rugby championship in the world. The sport of Rugby demonstrates many of the core values which we share at Tissot, such as teamwork, respect, discipline and a love for sports. These Championships are therefore the perfect platform for Tissot to be showcasing their timing expertise in an exciting, international environment, which at the same time represents the brand’s spirit perfectly. We cannot wait to get started”.

John Feehan, Chief Executive of the RBS 6 Nations, said: “We are delighted to welcome back Tissot as our Official Timekeeper. We greatly valued our relationship with Tissot when they were our timing partner back in 2004 & 2005 and it is great to have them back again within our very select family of Championship sponsors. Their passion for sport in general and for rugby in particular has impressed us greatly and we look forward to another very productive and successful partnership with them”.
