Minis Perform Well Against Armagh
A Primary 7 group of players from the Rainey Mini Rugby Club started off the season in style with a match against City of Armagh on Saturday 7th September at Hatrick Park. The game was played, with a lunchtime kick-off, as a ‘curtain raiser’ to the Rainey Old Boys Ulster League match against City of Armagh 1st XV.

The ‘boys’ had a great first match of the season, putting into action the skills they had learnt in previous years at the Club. A few of the players were new to the Club, but quickly got into it and enjoyed the action!

A selection of Primary 5 players then entertained spectators with a short display of their skills playing during the half-time interval. More photos are available in the gallery.

The Club welcomes primary school aged children, boys and girls, to get involved and give mini rugby a try! Training is at the Club on Friday evenings, 6-7pm, with yearly membership of £25 and a weekly playing fee of £2.

So it’s not too late to join the Mini Rugby at the Rainey Old Boys! Come along on a Friday evening at 6pm and see the future stars of Ravenhill and give mini rugby a try!

Rainey Rhinos Youth Training Kicks-Off

ROBRFC Youth Teams’ training for U13s, U15s, U17s & U19s has started again every Monday and Wednesday night, 6:30 – 7:30pm. Time to get rid of the summer flab, guys!

Coach The Coaches

Volunteer coaches of the Rainey Minis and Youth Sections of the Rainey OB RFC received coaching tips from the First’s team coaches Richard Boyd and John Andrews at the ‘Coach the Coaches’ night held at the Club recently. The evening proved a great warm up and refresher before the new season of training gets into full swing!

If you would like to get involved in coaching at the Club, please come along and speak to us at a training session. Minis train on a Friday evening, while the Youth teams train on Monday and Wednesday evenings.
