5 Minutes after the kick off Rainey had scored 15 Points, 2 tries and 2 conversions. By the final whistle they had a 31 – 0 bonus point victory. The game was superb, the packed clubhouse was buzzing in the anticipation of Christmas and all this after the high of the previous weeks semi final victory. “what was just as important to us, was they scored nothing”, in attack an absolute whirlwind. The tight five pummelled the opposition. Scrums dominant, lineout, everyone making ground sometimes as much as 15 metres from crash balls with a man or two in support putting in the hit, taking the hit and then powering through it with support, staying on the feet and driving relentlessly over the white line. There will be tougher games than this and with 15 points in the bag after 5 minutes there was a sense of job done, but even after the previous week they were able to bring the focus again and again producing dazzling rugby throughout the 1st and 2nd half. There was a slight sense of game over so to go on a persevere and keep working and lift themselves again and again to then produce all the scores throughout the game unanswered was absolutely superb. You get a sense that they probably have when required a further 35%-50% maybe even 70% more. An honour as always to feel the Hatrick Park buzz, and a superb day.
