What a game! As Nathan Moore from NM Sports Performance said this game between the two finalists Carrickfergus RFC women’s I XV & Ballymoney RFC womens I XV was the best final ever. Ballymoney gave absolutely no quarter. Carrickfergus harried, disrupted, defended with total teamwork, but Ballymoney absolutely put it to them every single play. There were parts of this game that had a ferocity that has become the hallmark of Ulster rugby. The physicality and never say never attitude of both teams was an outstanding credit to rugby. Literally end to end for parts, at other times one side or other had sustained phase pressure plays advancing up the field at other times it was one turnover by one side after the other. We will not mention individual names out of respect for Carrickfergus because as they put it “This Is A Team” and that is exactly what it was.
