When did rugby begin for you? The u8s @ Newry Rugby Club.
Who were the best props/teams you played against?
Grosvenor RFC. They are a very well drilled and skillful side. Their scrum isnt big but technicaly very good; a hard side to play against because they starve you of posession.
A memorable moment?
For me the Quarter final of the Gordon West Cup against Letterkenny was an amazing experience. What I am so proud of is that we shaped up and held our own
What does propping mean to you?
It means self belief, and a very good bond with my team mates. The front row is the first line of defence, it transfers across the field, it gives you a front foot to work from. Without a solid scrum you do not stand a chance against decent opposition.
What does it feel like to prop?
Intense & exhilirating! When I crouch its psychological I am focusing on my opposite number in the scrum and what I have to do. As a loose head I am looking to get in under the tighthead and my body position is critical. So I am feeling intense concentration and focusing on success.
Who is the biggest bandit in Coleraine Club?
Well, apart from myself its Cahal McNally, he is a bit of a cub but he just can’t keep his mouth shut lol, and me being the Old Boy I feel I have to dish it out lol
Shaved or unshaved?
Shaved.
Beers, wines or spirits?
All of the above as regular as possible.
