Who are the best props you have played against?

The big teams all have good props, they are experienced and for me breaking into the Ards 1st XV every game is about learning the opposition and applying my trade!

What is your most memorable rugby moment?

It was very memorable standing in Ulsters home changing room before the match, and even better just running out of the changing room onto the pitch were we won the cup. I also will never forget breaking my arm at 14 in training! That resulted in 2 plates in my wrist, an unforgetable pain.

What does propping mean to you?

To me propping is a head to head, one on one battle with your opposite prop in the scrums. A prop goes on the pitch to win that battle in every scrum. If you win that battle you have done your job.

What it feel like to be a prop?

The props are the first point of contact in the scrum along with the Hooker, and are the first peice of play in a scrum that sets up the ball for the rest of the team, and that feels like any important responsibility. It brings the best out of you! Getting the hit on your opposition is brilliant and particularly if you turn over a ball against the head.

Who’s the biggest bandit on the Ards Team?

All a great bunch of lads, but one of our Boys Trevor Devlin is the hell raiser, he can regularly be seen dancing on tables!
