PowerTech was set up in 2004, to provide the specialist industrial refrigeration market with a dedicated professional service. Since then, we have successfully delivered refrigeration installation projects and on-going servicing requirements for companies throughout Ireland and Scotland. Shortly after Powertech Refrigeration was established, we became associates of Star Refrigeration, servicing and maintaining their equipment in Ireland. (A full list of our customers and the projects we have undertaken for them accompanies this letter.)

The two directors of PowerTech Refrigeration, David Smyth, and Mervyn Hanna, have between them over fifty years of experience in the design, installation and servicing of industrial refrigeration systems. In the past we have successfully implemented refrigeration projects in the USA, Colombia, Ireland and the UK. These projects were, in the main, banana and fruit ripening installations. We have also designed and project managed large fruit ripening installations of up to forty ripening chambers and associated refrigeration plant, utilising both DX ammonia and Chilled Water systems.

We have extensive experience and skill in the design and installation of substantial refrigeration projects to budget and to schedule. One of our most recent projects was to design and install an 8,000ft high efficiency cold store for Belfast- based Musgrave Retail Partners. This utilised a pumped ammonia system with DX ammonia for a smaller ice cream store. On this project we were the principal contractors and also acted as CDM coordinators. The project started on the 3rd October 2008, with completion by the 3rd March 2009, two weeks ahead of schedule.

We have also just completed the electrical installation to a cold store and blast freezing facility for Granville Food Care in Dungannon, Northern Ireland. On this project we were contracted by Star Refrigeration of Scotland not only to install the electrical services, but also to assist with commissioning of the new plant, which is a 2 Meg.W combined ammonia and Co2 system. We have also been contracted to provide the on-going service and maintenance for this plant.
