We have been serving food to locals and visitors for over 40 years. Our founder, Mr Tom Davis, started the family run business in 1968 in College Square Belfast under the name Skandia. The Skandia group currently consists of 3 restaurants, Neill’s Hill, Olio, and ourselves Papa Joes New Orleans who have been in Bangor since 1971.

We offer a wide range of dishes to suit most tastes, influenced by the flavours of New Orleans, Louisiana.
Here, we pride ourselves in offering a place to come for tables of 1 right up to large parties where you will find good food!

Monday to Saturday: 12.00 – 3.00pm
Monday to Thursday: 5.00 – 9.00pm
Friday to Saturday: 5.00 -10.00pm
Sundays: Closed

We are situated on Hamilton road which is a one-way street. There are two ways to get to us. If you come into Bangor along the Belfast road, proceed straight through the set of lights into Abbey Street and up to the second roundabout beside the train station. You now have two options:

Proceed straight ahead into Main Street, go down the hill and turn right and right again into High street and follow the roads marked on the map with arrows round to the restaurant.
Turn right at the roundabout and proceed up the hill past the police station and turn left past the swimming pool and follow the road to the end to the lights and turn left and follow the roads marked on the map round to the restaurant.

You are welcome to call in person or by phone from 10.00am right through everyday.

We take bookings for reservations every half hour throughout the evening. In the evenings tables booked from 8.00pm onwards have the table for the night. Tables booked before 8.00pm are required back in 2 hours.

Although booking is not necessary we strongly advise you book to avoid disappointment.
