Omagh Academy I XV 7 vs Rainey Endowed I XV 14: Schools Cup Round Two. Video Of Tries, Report & Photographs – Very Good Game

Round two of the schools cup got off with a bang today with this superb encounter between Rainey Endowed & Omagh Academy.

We arrived to the game which was played in near perfect conditions to watch the warm up from both sides. Well drilled is not the word. This was going to be some encounter.

The scoreline fairly reflects the game and added to the fact that it was 11-7 with 10ish minutes maybe less to go this game could have went either way.

The game was not significantly marred by fumbles or knocks on or any kind of serious penalty count. Yes there were penalties which did cost both sides
territory but the game flowed very well and the professional approach by both sides was a credit to their schools and themselves.

Rainey won and progress to the next round. Their jubilant supporters left elated for the boys.

Omagh Academy could have won the game and were thoroughly gutted. They should however enter the Trohpy competition with every intention of being very serious contendors, an excellent side with everything to play for. We look forward to covering Omagh Academy in their next series of games. Some immense games to follow!

Rainey progress to the next round of the cup and after a difficult start to the season we ask, will they now enter their next game in exactly the frame of mind to take the opposition on and attack and defend with the same zeal as they did today. Well done boys and we look forward to covering the battles ahead.
