Letterkenny Rugby I XV 5 V Londonderry YM I XV 3

Letterkenny hosted Londonderry Ym on Saturday in the Gordon West cup. YM pressurised the Letterkenny defence for 30 mins and only gained a penalty converted by Bronze to lead 3 0 at half time.

Letterkenny came back strongly in the second half and Dunleavy scored in the corner, unconverted this left the score at 5 3 to Letterkenny.

Ym came back into the game and had a penalty to get back into the lead but the ball came back of the post and Letterkenny broke away and after sustained attack scored again in the corner through Boyle with Robinson converting.

Conditions were difficult for both teams and handling was poor all round, YM will need to improve on their handling and especially their tactical kicking if they are to make any mark this season.
