“Founded in 2016, Left Field is an established Scottish kombucha brewery, dedicated to crafting authentic kombucha using the finest ingredients. After returning to the UK from working in Canada with its thriving kombucha culture, Left Field was born to offer exciting tea beverages to the UK, addressing the typical sugary, flavour-enhanced soft drinks that often lack sophistication.
Drawing from beer brewing and fermented foods, we sought to create a natural, healthier alternative to alcoholic beverages. Originally based in Eyemouth (a town known for its rich tea smuggling history), our passion for kombucha quickly outgrew our coastal home, prompting a move to a larger facility in Livingston, complete with a custom fermentation room.
Our products prioritise high-quality, craft-brewed, ethically sourced tea, allowing the natural flavours to shine through. When brewing kombucha, we only add three things (tea leaves, sugar, and water) to our natural fermentation culture which imparts lots of gut-healthy acids and bacteria. We keep it simple, but this is no ordinary brew.”
