This Thursday at 9pm, ITV4 will be airing a new episode of Made in Britain that will go behind the scenes at ACME Whistles to see how the Birmingham firm has been inventing and making whistles for the last 150 years.
The programme features ACME Manging Director, Simon Topman, who takes views through the process of making an ACME Thunderer whistle, used by referees around the world, as well as giving an insight into the history of this family run business that is celebrating its 150th anniversary this year.
Simon Tompan said; “It’s a privilege to be recognised as one of the UK’s iconic brands. Since the invention of the first police whistle by our founder, Joseph Hudson, we have made whistles for the world’s top referees, dog trainers, police and military. It was a pleasure to open our doors to create this programme for ITV to show the care and attention that goes into every whistle we make.”
To see the programme, tune into the ITV4 at 9pm this Thursday, or search on ITV hub. To find out more about ACME Whistles, visit www.acmewhistles.co.uk
