Well, this is the season when the Irish provinces get theirs. They apparently play in a Mickey Mouse League and they play their second teams in 75pc of games, only rolling their superstars out when they play each other.
Cotton wool was never in short supply and everybody would be fit and fresh to knock off the best sides in Europe. It wasn’t fair and now that ‘meritocracy’ has been implemented and a level playing field is in play all across Europe the Irish provinces will pay dearly for their under-handed policies.
The question is will the three Irish provinces win any match this weekend? I think it will be tricky but I think all three Irish provinces will bag four points over the weekend, finding a way to unpick the English sides tactically.
