IRFU to showcase Club Rugby with Aviva Stadium Fixture

IRFU confirm home venues for 2014/15 representative fixtures

The IRFU have confirmed the venues for a host of representative games during the 2014/15 season and in a move aimed at showcasing the talent of the Ulster Bank Leagues, the Ulster Bank Ireland Club International fixture against their French counterparts will be played at the Aviva Stadium on Saturday 14th February following the RBS 6 Nations game between Ireland and France.

The confirmation of the Ulster Bank Club International fixture at the Aviva Stadium follows the announcement that the Ulster Bank League Division 1a final will also take place at IRFU HQ on May 9th 2015.

IRFU President, Louis Magee, commented, “Having the Club International against France follow the RBS 6 Nations senior international at the Aviva Stadium is an incredible platform to showcase the talent in our club game. The amateur game is the bedrock of our sport and it is fitting that this opportunity is utilised to show how vibrant and exciting club rugby is in Ireland.

I am delighted that in the 2014/15 season we have two high profile opportunities to celebrate and promote the club game.”
