Ireland Have Concerns Over Gary Ringrose’s Finger Injury for Six Nations 2020

The 2020 Six Nations Championship only began a couple of days ago, but things are looking doubtful where Gary Ringrose’s future in the tournament is concerned. While the Irish team defeated Scotland 19-12 in their opening match on Saturday, 1 February, the next game will see them play against defending champions, Wales on Saturday, 8 February.
Unfortunately, Ireland centre Ringrose looks like a doubtful pick for the event, following what is suspected to be a broken finger, coming off the game against Scotland. Ringrose would be replaced at the half-time mark by Leinster team-mate Robbie Henshaw. The only news provided on Saturday evening was that Ringrose would undergo a scan, but on Sunday, reports of his suspected fracture were announced.
If this is the case, then Ringrose could also miss out on playing against England on February 23. This leaves Ireland with a decision to make – who can replace him in centre position. Munster’s Chris Farrell remains a strong choice, as do both Stuart McCloskey and Will Addison of Ulster, the latter of whom was last in the news for a four-week ban in November of 2019.
