My name is Pete Canavan, and I am former rugger with the Wilkes-Barre Breakers Rugby Football Club in Wilkes-Barre, PA that has been around since 1973. I played from 1991 to 1998 with the Breakers, and am still a “social” member that gets on the pitch once in a while for an “old boys” match – lol!
I saw your request for features for the Christmas gift guide, and wanted to make you aware of something that makes a great gift.
I am a public safety professional, IT security consultant, and self-defense instructor. I have been helping my clients and students learn how to protect themselves for over 20 years from all types of online and offline threats to their personal safety.
I am the author of “The Ultimate Guide to College Safety” (http://bitly.com/tug2cs-az) which covers how to stay safe in both the digital and physical worlds. I am also a former radio show host, spoken on stage before large audiences, and have been on national media programs regarding my expertise on personal safety. I have also been quoted and written about in major newspapers including the NY Post and Washington Post regarding my expertise in personal safety.
My latest book is a perfect gift for high school seniors who will be heading off to college as well as any student currently in college. The book’s table of contents as well as 3 free chapters can be downloaded from http://GuideToCollegeSafety.com. I have also created a virtual online university devoted to college safety at http://CampusSafetyUniversity.com that has a forum, ezine newsletter, products, and Q&A section for students and their parents.
I am trying to do everything possible to help keep our students safe from the many threats to their personal safety. I hope this product makes the cut for your guide!
