Danske Bank Ulster Schools’ Round Up Saturday 19th September 2026.

Two games were played on Wednesday 16th September in the lead up to a full range of fixtures on Saturday 19th.
The Ballyclare High School U16 team hosted the Wesley College, Dublin Transition Year U16 team in a closely contested game with both teams playing for the Gordon Clarke Perpetual Cup.
The Ballyclare High School team won the game by 29-26 with an intercept try in the course of the last play of the game securing the win.
Gordon Clarke, a teacher with strong teaching and coaching connections with both schools was on hand to present the trophy to Conor McKee, captain of the victorious Ballyclare High School U16 team.
Conor McKee, Caleb Alexander, Zak Wells, with a brace and “Hero of the Hour”, Max Flynn, with his last play of the game intercept, were the Ballyclare High School try scorers.
Conor McKee was also successful with two of his conversion kicks.
The Wesley College points came through tries from Charlie Kenny, Graham Wildish, Charlie Alexander and Matthew Scott.
Matthew was also successful with three of his conversion kicks.
Meanwhile, at the Clonevin Park venue in Lisburn, Wallace High School played Kilkenny College in a game the Kilkenny College team won by 45-14.
Caleb Johnston and Jamie Spence each touched down for one Wallace High School try with Harry Walker successfully adding both conversions.
The Kilkenny College try scorers were winger, William Myers with a hat trick, scrum half, Adam Cole, with a brace, Ewan Eacrett and their impressive full back, Finn Brennan, with one try apiece.
Finn added the extras to five of the Kilkenny College tries.
On Saturday 19th September a good range of fixtures took place.
Ballyclare High School played Belfast High School and recorded a 40-0 victory.
Daniel Montgomery, Harry Martin, Zach Thompson, Joshua Tweed, Austin Adair, William Shiels, Ollie Falls and Jack Smyth were among the scorers for the Ballyclare High School team.
Banbridge Academy hosted Royal Belfast Academical Institution in a controlled 3×20 minute training game.
Seth Martin, Patrick McElroy, Daniel Byrne and Zach Watson were among the Banbridge Academy players who made major inputs in the course of the controlled game scenario.
For the Royal Belfast Academical Institution team young players such as Harry Greer and James Wootten impressed with their input in the course of the morning.
Bangor Grammar School played Portadown College in a game the Bangor Grammar School team won by 19-12.
Thomas Gamble ran for two Bangor Grammar School tries with Rory Mooney touching down for a third try.
Bruce McClure added two successful conversion kicks.
Sammy Walsh scored two tries for the Portadown College team with Charlie Rodgers adding one successful conversion kick.
Belfast Royal Academy played Royal School, Armagh in a game the Royal School, Armagh team won by 24-10.
Caleb McWhinney scored a try for the Belfast Royal Academy team with Blake McCloskey adding the conversion as well as one penalty goal.
Charlie Reaney, Harrison Wright and Alex Stinson each touched down for a Royal School, Armagh try.
The remaining Royal School, Armagh points came from a penalty try and one Joel Clarke conversion.
Campbell College, Belfast made the trip to Dublin 4 where they played Blackrock College in a game the Blackrock College team won by 61-10
The Blackrock College, Dublin team points came through tries from Rhys Keogh, with three, Donnacha Murray, with two and Lucas Hill, Peter Le Roux, Paddy Scally and Donnacha Walsh with one try each.
Paddy Scally was also excellent off the tee with eight successful conversion kicks.
Zach Thompson and David Nelson each scored an unconverted try for the Campbell College, Belfast team.
Cambridge House Grammar School played Friends’ School, Lisburn in a closely contested game the Friends’ School, Lisburn team won by 14-7.
The Cambridge House Grammar School points came through a try from Ethan Mills which was converted by James Johnston.
Josiah Morrison and Joel Irwin scored the Friends’ School, Lisburn tries with John Hall adding two successful conversion kicks.
Dalriada School entertained Rainey Endowed School in their annual Arthur Topping Cup game.
The Rainey Endowed School team won the game by 47-7.
Reuben Kelly ran in for the Dalriada School try with Henry Patton adding the extras to the try.
For the Rainey Endowed School team Alfie Paul and Rory McCrea each touched down for two tries with James Bell, Rafe Hastings and Matthew Glasgow touching down for one try each.
Christy McDonnell and Adrian Martin each kicked three successful conversions.
Grosvenor Grammar School played Down High School in a game the Down High School team won by 42-0.
Matthew Horner, with two, William Quinn, Paddy Dooley, with two and Monty Jackson were the Down High School try scorers with Logan Carr adding six successful conversion kicks.
Larne Grammar School hosted Royal Belfast Academical Institution 2ndxv in a game the Royal Belfast Academical Institution team won by 40-12.
The Larne Grammar School team, with their young captain, Ben Ledlie to the fore, scored two tries through Man of the Match, Ben Sterling, to which Matthew Crawford added one successful conversion kick.
Sam Coulter, Sam Duncan, Oliver Jones, Jared Hillis and Oscar McGonigle were among the points scorers for the Royal Belfast Academical Institution team.
Limavady Grammar School played Foyle and Londonderry College for the River Roe Cup.
This exciting, high scoring game ended as a 27-27 draw with both team sharing the River Roe Cup.
For the Limavady Grammar School team, Graeme Rossborough scored two tries with Jack Howe and Johnny Taggart touching down for one try apiece.
Jack was also successful with two conversion kicks as well as one penalty kick.
The Foyle and Londonderry College points came through tries from John O’Connor, Luke Wilson, Cian O’Leary, with two and Jaden Chen.
Rory Curtis added one successful conversion kick to the Foyle College scoreboard.
Lurgan College entertained Dromore High School in a game the Dromore High School team won by 26-17.
Alex McMeekin, with two and Charlie Boyce were the Lurgan College try scorers to which Max Blair added one successful conversion kick.
Harry Cantley, Troy Robson, Andrew Waugh and Austin Drimmage scored the Dromore High School tries.
Alfie Clarke added the extras to three of the Dromore High School tries.
Methodist College, Belfast made the journey to Dublin 16 where they played Wesley College, Dublin for the inaugural Methodist Cup.
The Wesley College, Dublin team won the game by 43-32 at the end of this high scoring encounter.
Ollie Gaynor touched down for a hat trick of tries for the Wesley College, Dublin team with Johnny Woods touching down for a brace of tries and Reuben Neill and Ross Collins scoring one try apiece.
Johnny Woods capped a fine personal performance with four successful conversion kicks.
The Methodist College, Belfast team scored four tries in the course of this Methodist Cup game.
James Reid, Peter Lindsay, with two and Cillian Hall scored the tries with Brody McGowan-Gould adding four successful conversion kicks as well as two successful penalty kicks.
Omagh Academy played Coleraine Grammar School and won this high scoring encounter by 31-24.
Lewis McIvor, with two, Frankie Oliver and Jamie Bradley were the Omagh Academy try scorers.
Sami Braden added four successful conversion kicks as well as one successful penalty kick for the Omagh Academy team.
Sedhlim Penfold, Joe Coates, George McLean and Luke McMillan scored the Coleraine Grammar School tries with Reuben Nicholl adding two successful conversion kicks.
Regent House School played Enniskillen Royal Grammar School in a game the Regent House School team won by 34-12.
Jonah Johnston ran in for three Regent House School tries with Finn McClean touching down for two and Ollie Crawford scoring one.
Zach Mc Minn added the extras to two of the Regent House School tries.
The Enniskillen Royal Grammar School points came through one try apiece from Ben Wallace and Archie Thompson with one successful conversion kick from Kristen Fee.
Sullivan Upper School played Royal School, Dungannon and recorded a 40-0 victory against a very young but very spirited Royal School, Dungannon team .
Lucas McKeown, Harry McCartney, George Kilpatrick, Henry Calvert, Benjamin French and Ben Borland were all among the Sullivan Upper School points scorers.
For the Royal School, Dungannon team Jake Ferguson, Cauan Robe, Alfie Cummings and Harry Finlay all stood out with their performances in the course of the game.
