The Youth section started last season and currently fields an U15 side. In just over 12 months we have grown from 6 players to 26 registered players.
Currently the coaching team comprises Graham Kitchen, Roy Lawton, Stevie Moore and Philip Anderson, along with some specialist sessions with Davy Cochran. Michael Curran will also be moving to Youth coaching next season.
We are actively engaging with local secondary schools on a recruitment drive and this week we delivered a first coaching session at Ashfield Boys School for year 9 pupils – 4 new players from that group came to our training on Monday night.
Next season we hope to field at least two teams at U13 and U17 level and also possibly introduce an U15 development team. To support this planned growth, we will be needing extra coaches.
