Civil Service RFC Notes: I & II XV v Ophir RFC & Youth News + Club Roundup!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ophir 23 v 23 Civil Service

Service travelled to Mount Pleasent in North Belfast on Saturday to take on
joint table toppers Ophir in the league. Service were 12 nil up at one
stage, but were unable to turn the screw and finish off their stubborn
opponents, but still dug in to come away with a 23 all draw which helped
keep them joint top of the league table along with Ophir. This week they
travel to Lurgan in the Gordon West Cup.

With the 1st XV away, the 2nds hosted their own Ophir counterparts at
Stormont. This was not as tight as the scoreline might suggest and with a
little bit more clinical finishing next time round, should show that the
2nds are also a team worthy of note. This weeks fixture is still to be
confirmed.

Youth

The Youth section travelled to Larne to play Instonians and Larne in a Round
Robin exchange on Saturday and came away feeling rightly pleased with their
days efforts. In the first game they defeated Instonians before going down
to a very abrasive Larne side in the second game at Glynn. This gave the
boys some valuable game time experience against well established opposition
and bodes well for the future. This week the Youth host Ophir. Players to
meet at the Club at 10am for an 11am kick-off.

Training

To help keep this momentum going, it is vitally important that all players
from all sections attend training sessions on a regular basis. Please make
an effort to attend.

Website

The Club will soon be moving to a new website hosted by Pitchero. More
details will be released soon.

Recruitment

Civil Service Rugby at Stormont is always on the lookout for new recruits at
all levels. Training for Seniors and Youth is on Mondays and Wednesdays from
6.30pm. Minis (boys and girls) is held on Saturdays from 10am. All new
players will be very welcome.
