Hannah surpassed the competition of many other accomplished young women from all over Ireland, North, South, East and West, to be crowned Lady Of The Erne 2012 at a lavish ceremony at the Slieve Russell Hotel, Cavan, on Friday night (20 July 2012).

The Lady Of Erne began in 1991 with the aim of cultivating and promoting cultural cross border relations in a different way. Entrants are judged on their personality and talent in such areas as dance, song, acting and poetry as much as on their beauty.

Hannah represented the City and County of Armagh in the competition, stating that her goal in life is to help people and make their lives a little bit easier. Her first experience of this was as a care assistant in a residential home; a job she now has had for three years. Hannah has combined this with her love for Science and is now studying medicine at the University of Manchester.

A big hobby of Hannah’s is sport, with her main passion for the past seven years being Women’s Rugby. Hannah kicked off her rugby career at City of Armagh Rugby Club where she achieved much success, in turn setting her up to tackle the challenge of Captaining her Ladies University 1st XV in the forthcoming 2012–2013 season.

Hannah’s main love in life is her family, they are very close, and she says without them she wouldn’t be who she is today. All of who are extremely proud of her triumph.

For her talent showpiece Hannah performed ‘The boys from the County Armagh’ on the flute, much to the delight of her proud family (Ian Watson, Shirley-anne Donaldson) and friends (Zoe Templeton, Laura Mills, Josh Morton, to name but a few) who bolstered her in voice from their table in the audience.

Many Congratulations, Hannah, from everyone at City of Armagh Rugby Club, and all the best with your upcoming engagements.
