(available until the end of April)
For an Easter feast like no other, HECK! is fusing the beloved Easter staple, the hot cross bun, with the savoury delight of a gourmet burger, creating a one-of-a-kind taste experience.
For food enthusiasts and curious eaters alike, the Hot Cross Bun Burger is a harmonious blend of sweet and savoury – 80% British pork
infused with plump raisins, herbs and a subtle hit of mixed spice – and, like everything HECK! makes, is deliciously gluten-free.
The Yorkshire-based sausage and burger maker has created the meaty mash-up for people to switch up their Easter feast and BBQ get togethers as the weather gets warmer.
HECK! is known for pushing the boundaries of traditional flavours and the brains behind the bold new burger is Calum Smith, a development chef for the brand whose other fusion flavours have included the Hallowiener, Brussels sprout sausage, Guy Porks for bonfire night and last year’s strawberry & black pepper sausage for Wimbledon.
He said: “We explored the idea of putting a regular burger in a hot cross bun and then thought, why not put the flavours into the burger itself. The sweetness and spice enhance the savoury richness of the meat, creating the ideal flavour balance. Whether you choose to go the whole hog and nestle this one in between two halves of a freshly baked hot cross bun is entirely up to you!”
The new Hot Cross Bun Burger (2 pack / 320g / £3.50) can be ordered from the HECK! website www.heckfood.co.uk throughout April.
