A superb day. There was a time when you might go as a spectator to this tournament and maybe a lot of players were playing for the once a year tag. That was probably the case on Saturday but you would not have thought it. The number one try of the day was a try scored by a move created and followed through to the try by 3 girls. Again and again it was girls taking the lead and even in defence passing the verbal to the rest of the team “everyone mark the girls, let the guys score, mark the girls”. Obviously tactically this was the right thing to do as the score line was so close that a girl try would have swung it! The standard was absolutely amazing.

The sun was splitting the stones all day, the BBQ was in full swing all day, the bar was open and the summer tunes played all day. At the end a group of about 80 players and supporters stayed on to enjoy the evening at Belfast Harlequins RFC.
