Belfast Telegraph Report Carrickfergus have that little bit extra over Ballyclare in Towns Cup

Carrickfergus kicked off their 150th year in the perfect fashion with a Towns Cup victory over local rivals Ballyclare at Tom Simms Memorial Park on Saturday afternoon.

The teams could not be separated over 100 minutes of rugby but, with the score at 11-11 as the game entered the added seconds in extra time, Luke Whitall nailed a nerveless penalty with the last kick.
