Bears Bounce to Telford
Bouncy Castles were the order of the day at Eaton Park on Saturday and boy did the Ballymena Bears have fun on them. Not only were there many laughs and tumbles but the section mascot “Rory” was also on hand to offer his support and 2000 bounces later (including an impromptu visit from Ballymena and Ulster front row forward Andy Warwick the Bears achieved their goal, in doing so raising more funds for their forthcoming tour to Telford.
Whilst taking a break from their bounces, the Bears took to the pitch during half time of the 1st XV match against Belfast Harlequins for a quick demo of tag rugby. Although not long the demo saw two teams of Bears demonstrate their enjoyment of rugby and the crowd gave them a loud cheer after watching 3 tries being scored by some very talented and speedy players.
The sun shone and the weather stayed dry adding the icing to what was a fantastic day, lots of laughs and giggles, skills and friends made a truly memorable day. Even better was to come watching the Ireland team afterwards in the clubhouse seal their 6 Nations campaign with a win over Scotland making the day full of champions.
