Just 3 weeks to go before our Tourists head off for Italy.
Itinerary
Tuesday 30th July, depart Dublin airport for Milan
Friday 2nd August, fixture #1
Sunday 4th August, fixture #2
Wednesday 7th August, depart for home
The first fixture is against Rugby Viadana in Milan. This club was established in 1970, and has since won the Italian championship in 2002, and the Coppa Italia three times. They became something of a feeder club to Aironi, but have recently reformed as a professional team, and will be playing in the 2013/14 Amlin Challenge Cup. Let’s hope we’re not playing their firsts!
Our second opponents are Celtic Irish Rugby, based in the Lazio area, not far from Rome. This is a young club, formed only in 2010, and draws its members from over 15 countries. Little else is known about this outfit, but the thinking is that it could be a student team.
As for the ‘cultural and fun events’ it is hoped to get on a bike, tour the home of electric football, visit the circus, have a fight, and learn to cook for a last supper!
