Ballyshannon RFC Notes: I XV 60 Derry YMCA Rugby I XV 5 + Ladies I XV 39 v Ballymoney RFC Ladies I XV 0

In what was another epic win for Ballyshannon at the Lakeside on Saturday last in bitterly cold and windy conditions, they secured another two points against Derry YMCA for the second time this season.
The Ballyshannon side inflicted an eight try rout on the Derry side to further boost their side’s confidence and along with seven conversions and two penalties from the mercurial boot of winger Anthony Boyle accumulated a fantastic score of 60 points.
The tries came from captain Ray Gallagher,Anthony Boyle, Rionn Treanor, Mark Rooney (2), Paul O Brien (2) and John Treacy.
This was another classy performance by the home side and despite being under severe pressure in the scrum were dominant all over the park and with just one try coming through the pack the back line again were to the fore with seven tries between them in a very slick display, with serious pace and handling a winner on the day!
Hopefully this side can maintain this level of performance for the remainder of the season and finish on a high after the turmoil of earlier in the season.
This Saturday “Shannon” takes on Strabane who are flying high and will prove a real test for the home side. Kick off at the Lakeside is at 2.30pm and again local support would be greatly appreciated.
Saturday’s team was:
Brain Killalea, Conor Gallagher, Gerard Mc Intyre, Ray Gallagher, Richard Gallagher, Paul Connolly, Conor Mc Hugh, James O Donnell, John Mc Intyre, Rionn Treanor, John Treacy, Mark Rooney, Paul O Brien, Anthony Boyle and Daire Keown.
