Ballynahinch RFC played Ballyclare RFC this evening in an amazing game of RUGBY. Ballynahinch have won the Ulster Rugby Junior Cup and are the champions of ULLLLLSSSSSSTTTTTERRRRRRRRRRRR \!/

The final was played this evening in something of a wind which really only affected the high ball with both ends of the stadium closed in removing something of the wind tunnel and the substantial crowd supporting both sides were treated to a very very good final that saw the game played at a very high pace and tempo with incredible hits, amazing off loads and some of the sweetest moves.

Very good scrums, lineouts, and counter rucking was clinical. The speed of the game was very very high. You could see both teams in attack knew that fast ball was premium gold and the ability of both sides to break the game line.

But most of all the biggest thing we have noticed more and more and more is the ability to defend. Tonight on more than one occasion players who broke away and seemed almost guaranteed to go over were stopped by both defences. There is something very very important in that defensive ability and it is literally amazing to see teams / players reacting so quickly to the situation that they are stopping what would previously have been certain tries.

The intensity, the focus and training being undertaken by all these players is a testament to their dedication.

Keeping the ball alive the off loads were superb.

Both sides advanced in attacks using the full width of the pitch and the physicality was without relent.
