Playing on the bottom number 2 pitch the visitors from Dublin 4 had the wind advantage in the first half and made a steady start as the County Down men struggled with the early pace and intensity of play.
It was a case of digging in at the clubhouse end of the pitch as wave upon wave of opposition attacks surged into the Hinch half of the field.
Lansdowne out half Scott Deasy missed an early opportunity to put his side in front in the 5th minute after Hinch had infringed at a ruck.
The Dublin men had a well drill forward unit and both their linepit and scrum looked very strong. Indeed it was their lineout that most of their attacking play was built off in particular a very effective maul.
