It was 3 wins out of 3 for the Ballymoney teams on Saturday 08th Sept.
The 1st XV entertained Donaghadee at home in a match which was sponsored by Harrigan Fuels. Ballymoney had a furious first half and sealed a 4th try bonus point at the interval. Donaghadee replied with two trys late in the second half but Ballymoney scored a 5th try to seal a 32-15 victory. Andrew Surgenour, Nigel Nevin, Ewan Strang, James Cleland and Chris Watson scored the trys while Ewan Strang kicked 2 conversions and a penalty.
The 2nd XV had an impressive 31-7 win at home to Dungannon 3rd XV. In an exciting match they took a 23-0 lead at half time. Trys were scored by Jonny Linton, John Laughlin and Sandy McAuley while James Campbell had an impressive day with the boot adding 4 penalties and 2 conversions to take his tally to 16 points.
The 3rd XV started there league campaign with a 22-15 win against Carrick 3’s. A new look 3rd’s took the pitch with a number of players moving up from the lower teams and from the U19 set up this season. This was reflected in the scores as trys came from Gwaine Foster, Philip Docherty and Steven McCahon. Mathew Dunlop added 2 conversions and a penalty.
