It was a game of ifs, buts, and maybes for both sides, at a very wet and cold Ballymoney R.F.C. today. Although the Ballymoney Ladies chalked up a narrow 5 – 3 victory, the game was there for the taking by the Letterykenny women.

With both sides on an even par at the breakdowns, the difference between the two sides, for me, came from the Letterkenny Ladies showing a little inexperience within the back row. [Not meant to be taken in a negative context].

Overall, a very evenly, hard fought game by both sides, with the TOON girls winning by a slender margin.

I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the TOONIES on their win and to say well done to the Letterkenny Ladies for fielding a team today and making it a ‘battle royal’ for our girls.

Big thanks also to the referee, who travelled up from Omagh to officiate over the women, and to the coaches, and organisers, and a special mention for the supporters who braved the elements to watch the game.
