Club president Tom Christie wins the Dorrington B Faulkner award for services to rugby , in recognition of his 40 year playing career.

Fresh from the clubs successful 40th anniversary and awards dinner a few weeks ago the club received word from the Ulster Branch that there may be 1 more award to hand out.
Tom Christie had been nominated for the Dorrington B Faulkner award for his services to rugby over the past 40 years. The award ceremony was to take place at this years Ulster Rugby awards at the Culloden hotel where Tom would be rubbing shoulders with the great and the good of Ulster Rugby.
The name Tom Christie has become synonymous with Armoy RFC throughout the clubs history, he played in the clubs first ever match back in 1974. He has played in every season in the clubs history scoring at least 1 try in each of these seasons. The final match of his 40 year playing career was last months Butler Shield final which the club narrowly lost to Donaghadee. He has held the positions of club captain, treasurer, chairman and president, and has dedicated a lot of time and on occasions his own money in securing that the club has been able to reach the 40 year landmark……. for the full story CLICK HERE
