Armor-Lux looks to the fishermen and coastline of Brittany for its Autumn/Winter 2026 menswear collection.

For Autumn/Winter 2026, Armor-Lux returns to one of the places that has shaped the brand since its beginnings: the Breton coast.

Titled The Fishermen, the new collection takes inspiration from the people who have made their living along Brittany’s shoreline and at sea, as well as the clothing required to withstand the conditions they face.

The first part of the collection, Argol, draws on the rugged coastline around the Breton village, set between cliffs and the Iroise Sea. Cool, natural tones reflect the landscape, from the grey of the sky to the deep blue of the ocean and the muted colours of the shoreline.

The clothing follows the same sense of practicality. Clean silhouettes, substantial layers and hardwearing pieces reflect the functional wardrobe of the Breton fisherman, while staying true to Armor-Lux’s longstanding approach to quality and everyday wearability.

The second chapter, At Sea, takes its inspiration from life aboard a trawler and the fishermen who work through the changing conditions of the Atlantic.

Here, the palette shifts towards warmer brown tones, contrasted with the glow of signal lights and the darker colours associated with a stormy sea. Wool layers and enveloping silhouettes reflect the need for warmth and protection, while continuing the practical approach that runs through the collection.

Together, the two influences capture the contrasting sides of life on the Breton coast — the quieter, more exposed shoreline and the harsher conditions of working at sea.

There is little unnecessary detail throughout. The focus is on clothes that have a purpose and are built with the environment in mind, an approach that has been part of Armor-Lux’s identity for more than 85 years.

Founded in Quimper, Brittany, in 1938, Armor-Lux has a long history of producing clothing influenced by the region’s maritime heritage. Stripes, knitwear, outerwear and workwear-inspired pieces have become part of the brand’s signature, with that heritage continuing to inform its collections today.

For AW26, The Fishermen keeps that connection firmly at the centre of the collection, taking its cues directly from Brittany, its coastline and the people who have worked there for generations.

The result is a considered menswear wardrobe with a clear sense of place — clothing shaped by the Atlantic, the weather and the practical needs of life on the coast.

The Armor-Lux Autumn/Winter 2026 collection is available now from Peggs & Son, John Lewis and other selected retailers.
