As per previous years the Annual Xmas Exiles v Ards Select will compete for the Michael Taylor Cup
Michael was a talented Ards rugby player who came through the ranks of mini and junior rugby at Ards and Regent House along with the likes of Stewarty Paul, Gareth Paden, Colin Ritchie, Stewart Johnston, Richard Cull and Paul Thompson to name but a few.
In 2002 when Michael was 21years old he was diagnosed with leukemia; despite a valiant battle Michael succumbed to the illness in 2005.
Since the passing of Michael, his friends and family have tirelessly raised monies for Northern Ireland Leukemia Research and the Anthony Nolan Trust; as part of this fund raising an annual rugby match in memory of Michael has been played at Ards Rugby Club.
All rugby players, past or present no matter what club you are from are invited to play along with any exiles or students returning for Christmas, while all friends, family and supporters of the charities are also welcome.
