RUGBY CLUB KICKS OFF EVENING WITH SPORTING STARS AFTER SCORING PRIZE
Aylesbury Rugby Club has spent an evening celebrating with their sporting heroes after beating 800 UK teams to win a Grassroots challenge run by premium home appliance brand, AEG.
Aylesbury RFC, which won the AEG Grassroots 2013 campaign, welcomed Will Greenwood and Austin Healey to an all-expenses-paid ‘Best Seats in the House’ event at their ground on Friday (21st February) which saw 200 guests enjoy a live screening of the Wales vs France game commentated live and in person by the two rugby stars.
The event, which also included refreshments and a question and answer session with the professionals, was a dream come true for The Ducks. Clive Woodfall, Club Chairman, said: “It was a fantastic evening and we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Will and Austin were very entertaining and great company and the event was truly a once in a lifetime opportunity for rugby fanatics like myself and the team.”
England rugby star and commentator Will Greenwood said: “Myself and Austin really enjoyed the evening at Aylesbury RFC – it was great to meet the guys and be able to share some anecdotes and tips with them.”
Graham Bremer, Head of Marketing (UK & Ireland) at AEG, said: “The event was a huge success and both myself and Aylesbury RFC would like to thank Will and Austin for providing an unforgettable experience for the team.
“AEG is committed to supporting grassroots teams and provides the very best laundry appliances and bespoke kits in the hope that the money that would normally be spent on sportswear and laundry can be redistributed towards training and other facilities for the club.”
Since launching the campaign in 2011, AEG has supported thousands of rugby and cricket teams from across the UK with kit and laundry packages.
