VIRGINIA U/18 AND U/15 GIRLS ENJOY A GREAT DAY OF RUGBY IN ARMAGH

Virginia under 18 and under 15 girls travelled to Armagh on Sunday for an afternnon of rugby. Armagh the hosts, Belfast Harlequins, Cloghervalley, Enniskillen, Lurgan, Malone, Monaghan and Virginia all participated in the end of season blitz, and the sun shone for the duration.

Virginia under 18’s first match was against Malone and following a fast and furious game of rugby ended in a scoreline of 2-0 in Virginia’s favour. Their second seen them play our hosts Armagh, and in a tightly contested match they emerged the victors 3-2. The girls then played Harlequins and this match ended 2-0 to Virginia. Their last match was against our near neighbours Monaghan, and after a very competitive match which seen two tries denied to the g irls, Monaghan came out on top with a win of 2-0. This final result seen the blitz end in both Monaghan and Virginia on the top of the board having lost one match each, but as Monaghan had scored two tries more than Virginia in the competition, they emerged the worthy victors. Well done to the Monaghan under 18 girls.
