VIRGINIA RFC SEEKS NEW HEAD COACH

Newly promoted to Ulster Qualifying 3 Virginia RFC is looking for a new head coach for the 2016/2017 season. Virginia RFC situated less than 1 hr from Dublin and 2hrs from Belfast, the club fields 2 Adult Men’s team (Ulster Qualifying 3 and Minor League).
Virginia RFC is regarded as one of the most successful youth clubs in Ulster over the past 10 years. Fielding teams in all age grades from U7 to U18 as well as an U12, U15 and U18 ladies teams. The investment in youth rugby for the last 10 years is now bearing fruit with almost all Senior players coming through the youth system.
Success is also visible off the pitch with a newly developed full size pitch to be opened at the start of the season.
While all applications will be considered on merit, the position may suit a player who is currently playing at a high standard and would like to continue playing and contributing on-the-field while simultaneously developing their coaching career. Key Responsibilities
o Management of Virginia RFC of both senior teams rugby affairs, including the development and performance management of players o Planning, preparing and delivering training sessions o Attendance at all match days (Saturdays) and 2 evening training sessions during the week o Being an ambassador for all rugby-related matters at the club and with the local community
Key Competencies o Ability to lead and realise the clubs stated objectives o Credible rugby knowledge, understanding and expertise gained from playing, coaching or through player management. o Ability to coach and understand the game to a high level – strategically, tactically and technically. o Ability to interface effectively with people at all levels. Competence to manage & motivate, develop relationships, and if required manage conflict.
