UUJ 2nd XV lose Grip on Top of Table

Belfast Met travelled to BHSFP RFC to play UUJ 2nd XV on Wednesday 4th.

UUJ topped the Provincial Table with Belfast Met sitting in fourth place but UUJ knew this was going to be a tough game for them.

Belfast Met started the stronger and it was evident the side trained a lot together but as the game progress UUJ came into it playing a mainly forward game knowing the Met liked to play keeping the ball alive, halftime score was 14 – 10 for Belfast Met with all UUJ’s points coming from their outhalf Conor Murray with a converted try and a penalty.

However the second half was to change and UUJ started to play a more open game, this playing into the Mets hands and letting their Irish International Rugby League centre into the game more resulting in a 33 -10 loss for UUJ.

This will have dropped UUJ to second in the league with QUB taking top after their defeat of UUC, Belfast Met will have stayed in fourth place but all still have it to play for.

UUJ want to thank BHSFP RFC for the use of their Club and for providing a meal for both UUJ teams after this game
